Birthday Boy

Dear Family and Friends,

Friday was Karl's birthday. Yea! He was able to open one of Angela's presents before work and the rest after. Karl got a temple bag, shorts, a mini-tripod, and a tie. We went to Los Hermanos in Lindon for dinner. Karl had a smothered burrito and Angela had a taco salad. Karl also got the free birthday fried ice cream, but they were too busy to sing to him. After dinner we went to Desert Star Playhouse to watch a melodrama called "Harry Podder: Dude where's my wand?" It was pretty funny. On the way to the show, we dropped Karl's dad off at Sharla's. He was going to help us change the belts on our cars, but left some tools at Sharla's. After the show ended around midnight, we went back to Sharla's and talked with Karl's Grandma while his dad fixed their AC. Then we took Karl's back to stay at our place.

Saturday morning the men spent a few hours changing the belts in the cars. In the meantime, Angela did some house cleaning. Karl's dad hit the road to Texas after that work was complete, and we went to the park to play ultimate Frisbee and run. The rest of the day we spent washing cars, shopping for groceries, and running other errands. We also watched some of Karl's new Newsradio DVD (thanks mom), and "So I Married an Axe Murderer." Sunday we went to church, sang in choir, and walked along the Provo River Trail.

The rest of the week went quickly. On Tuesday, Karl spent forever in traffic. A semi crushed a few cars and they closed I-15. Unfortunately, Karl passed the last exit just before they closed it. He sat in one spot for an hour. It was terrible. That night Karl played a little Frisbee while Angela bought one last gift. Thursday, we went to Angela's parents for dinner. Her uncle was in town, there was lots of family there. The food was good. Angela made some excellent oatmeal and chocolate chip cookies for the event. It was fun to be with family.

In other news, Angela found out that the other two people called to nursery will no longer be doing it. Hopefully they will find some new people soon. Who knows, maybe they will call Karl. This should be Karl's last week for the internship.

Thought for the week: Solution for a hot Saturday afternoon: One can of sprite, 4 ice cubes, 4 scoops of rainbow sherbet, 3 strawberries, set blender to high, and mix.
