Setting up an ODBC connection to PopChart's example CSV files

These instructions will help you set up a Chilisoft-ODBC connection to the example data (CSV) files that are included with PopChart (not included in Production install). They assume you are using a Linux/UNIX-compatible system, but the instructions can easily be adapted for other platforms.

  1. Make sure that PopChart Server and Chilisoft ASP have been installed correctly. Make sure that Chilisoft ASP has been started.
  2. Login to the Chilisoft Administrator. Usually, you can get to this by going to http://localhost:5100.
  3. Go to Server Management > ASP Server > Databases.
  4. From Global Data Source Names select Add New DSN.
  5. Enter "csvtables" into the DSN box.
  6. Select "Text" from the Database type pull-down menu. New options should appear below.
  7. Enter the location of PopChart's example data into the TableType box. This folder is located at "chart_root/examples/data" under the PopChart root directory. So, for example, if you installed PopChart to "/usr/local/Corda40", then you would enter "/usr/local/Corda40/chart_root/examples/data" into this box.
  8. Click Save

You should now see an entry for csvtables under the Global Data Source Names list. If you want to make sure it has been set up correctly, click on test.
